Two things occupied my Dark Mysteries Campaign time this week: first, I have extensively revised and updated the {ln:Kingdom of the Five Crowns} entry under "Nations". Included in the update is a place-holder map based on my original electronic game map. This will be revised when I do new maps.

The second major task was to get a copy of the Reign Enchiridion, a role-playing game from Greg Stolze. I'm interested in this game system primarily for its Company rules, which allow players to run arbitrary groups - mercenary bands, professional guilds, nations. I think this rule system will provide the infrastructure for me to run a {ln:Grand Game} that will let us play through the period from the end of City under the Stars to the beginning of the Next Generation's campaign.

The Grand Game will take however many players I end up roping into playing, and put each of them in charge of a nation or district within a nation: Portsdale and Ithell's Town, the two player-controlled towns, as well as the three major duchies of the Kingdom of the Five Crowns, the outer and core regions of the Dales, the two major districts of Eiresud, and whatever other factions as make sense. This game will progress with quarterly turns running from about 2050 (roughly the time of {ln:The Laughing Pool Chapter 1 'The Laughing Pool}) until 2070.

I'll be putting together some overview materials some time soon.

I also (at long last) discovered where the rest of my notes from {ln:City under the Stars} disappeared to. I've got to get those notes transcribed and fleshed out to finish up the story.

Current Game Updates

The {ln:The Laughing Pool Chapter 2 'Laughing Pool} makes progress, with Lady Bree making it to a larger elven town on Phaeree, and discovering that it's good to be the ambassador to an elven High Prince.

Website Updates

Not a great deal of updates this week - things got busy, and the projects I mentioned above consumed a fair amount of time. The one significant website update is the new {ln:Kingdom of the Five Crowns} entry. There were a few tweaks to the layout to improve readability, as well.

Upcoming Changes

The forum is still a coming feature. I may try using it for the {ln:Grand Game} when it's ready. I also plan to get something up for the Grand Game as I get it ready.
